Difference
between a Poster and Print
Quality, qUALITY, qualitY!
The main difference between a poster and a print can be summed up in one
word - quality.
By "quality" we do not
necessarily mean that prints have more vibrant colors and are more
beautiful than posters. This is not true. As a matter of fact, there is
no actual visual difference between the two.
The main difference is
seen after a few years, where posters undergo a color degradation while
art prints still look brand new as prints are image impressions made on
a superior paper grade.
For commercial and
mass-production purposes, both posters and art prints are printed by
lithography, a printing method invented in 1798 by Alois Senefelder.
It is estimated that on
average, art prints retain the image quality at least 5 times longer
than posters and cost only a few dollars more. Therefore, if you want an
artwork for long-term decorative purposes, we highly recommend
you purchase art prints instead of posters.
